Alimony
In Florida a party may be entitled to temporary, rehabilitative, permanent, or lump sum alimony. The Court considers several factors when determining whether to award a party alimony in a dissolution of marriage, usually the deciding factor is the length of the marriage. Other determining factors include the relative economic positions of the parties, age and condition of the parties, the ability to pay alimony, standard of living during the marriage, adultery, and contributions to the marriage (ie. homemaking or career building). See Florida Statute '61.08.
