
Jacob Westbrook
Associate AttorneyJacob “Jake” Westbrook was born and raised in St. Augustine, FL. Jake attended St. Augustine High School, where he played varsity basketball and baseball. Upon graduation from high school, Jake attended Florida State University with hopes of continuing his baseball career. After two years at Florida State University he transferred to Flagler College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Strategic Communications. From there, he then received his Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law and was admitted to the Florida Bar in the same year.
In 2018, Jake began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in the 7th Judicial Circuit in both Volusia and St. Johns County. During his five years as a prosecutor, he handled over 5,000 criminal cases and over 15 criminal jury trials. Including but not limited to cases involving firearms, trafficking amounts of narcotics, DUI, domestic violence, and other serious felony offenses. In February of 2023, Jake joined the Law Offices of Shorstein & Lee as an associate attorney focusing his career on criminal defense, family law, real estate, and estate planning.
Jake is an active member of the St. Johns County Bar Association & St. Johns County Sports Club. When he isn’t working you can find Jake spending time with his family, working out, hunting, fishing, or on the golf course.
