I was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and moved to St. Augustine with my mother, Dr. Karen Howell, when I was 12 years old. In 2002, I graduated from St. Augustine High School with honors. I went to college at Flagler and loved my time there. From there I went on to law school at the University of Florida. In 2009, my legal career when I opened my own law practice, Alyssa C. Camper, Attorney at Law, P.A. After I married my husband, Bryan Shorstein in November of 2017, I merged my law practice with my current law partner, Sung Lee, and became part of the Law Offices of Shorstein and Lee. My main practice areas are bankruptcy, criminal defense, estate planning, and probate in St. Johns County, Florida.

I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a lawyer because I wanted to be able to help people just like my dad did. Helping people and making a difference in their lives is the best part of my job. In handling my client’s issues, I am solution oriented. I want you to leave my office understanding your options and the plan we have to reach your goals. I do my best to help my clients achieve the best possible result in their case, whether that is a bankruptcy discharge, a dismissed criminal case, or an estate plan that gives peace of mind in knowing that they took care of their loved ones even after their death.

When I am not working, you can find me spending time with my family, friends and dogs, reading, cross-fitting, attending one of my children’s many sporting events or school performances, volunteering or singing in my church’s praise band.

An exceptional attorney. Not usually a big fan of the legal profession, but Alyssa and her staff are the exception. Pleasant to work with, plain-speaking, honest, and hard-working; I came away impressed with her efforts on our behalf, as well as those of her staff. Highly recommended.

The attorneys at the Law Offices of Shorstein and Lee are very knowledgeable and professional. I'd highly recommend them to anyone needing assistance with a criminal or family law matter.
